S1.E15 - A Pedagogical Choice Playing To Player Types
The game monopoly in my house not only ended with a fight, but began with one. You see, each of my family members had to get the right metal marker to symbolize them and the adventure they were about to take into corporate financing and scandals. It is a ridiculous way to start a game. Or is it? Thinking back, these symbols might have represented more than we thought. They might have just embodied the type of player we see ourselves as. This idea of what type of player we are is not only found in the starting pieces of monopoly, but in hardcore game design. This episode, Sean and I dig deep into the Bartle Test and the gamer profile. Learn to see how this gamer personality test can help you create balanced teams, more efficient workflows, and an overall better classroom environment. At very least, it is going to give you something to think about. Enjoy!
